Get Your Motivational Groove On
We all have had experienced at one point or another that brick wall which impedes our desire to move forward. How to overcome this obstacle is the key to success. What drives you? Who encourages you? Where do you look for your inspiration? The answer lies within, look to yourself, find the flame which ignites your passion and run with it.
Everyone will have different perspectives but each of us have the power to conquer. Here are some ideas to help get you started:
♦ Think Big, Start Small
Dare to dream, go as far as you can see, when you get there you will always be able to see further. Plan every little detail, visualise each step and follow through.
♦ Find the Joy
Whatever the objective we are trying to create whether it be on a physical, personal, professional or financial level we have to ask ourselves what is the point if I do not find joy in what I do. This is not to say there won't be hardships along the way, afterall the saying "no pain, no gain" rings true but happiness is the ultimate reward. Ask yourself throughout your journey "am I happy" if the answer is no could you be doing something differently and still reach the same destination?
♦ Start today
Procrastination is the enemy and I'm the first to admit I'm guilty of this. We live in a society with the attitude "there will always be tomorrow" but suck it up and get it done, not tomorrow or next week, do it now!
♦ Focus
This follows on from procrastionation, there will always be excuses to distract us or other commitments which take priority but dertermination and dedication is the foundation for success. Have a clear vision, concentrate and see it through.
♦ Believe
Our own limitations can hold us back, get out of your own way and take a positive approach. Take each day as a new opportunity, never let your fears decide you fate.
♦ Get support
The best form of motivation is from within but that's not to say we cannot find inspiration externally too. I look to my family for encouragement and music is also a great tool I often use, what's yours?
♦ Stick with it
Focus on how far you have come, not how far you have to go and remember if plan "A" doesnt work there are 25 more letters in the alphabet!
Hope these little tips help you
